Back to School Routines

We are FINALLY starting to settle into a back to school routine. It has taken me a while to update because I have forgotten how busy life is when I am working. :) 

Here are a few things we have been up to...

 

Andie wants to be just like her brother. She put her helmet on all by herself and is working on her biking skills. Davis continues to amaze us (and scare his mother) with his balance and stamina!

It is always sweet to have ice cream at the Sweet Spot, but even better when Grandma and Grandpa join us!

We have to keep our eyes on Andie and Grandpa, they like to get into trouble!

Our family was blessed with a BEAUTIFUL niece, Collyns Marie Schulz. We are so excited for the adventures to come with this sweet pea!

Andie is at that stage when smiling looks like it hurts. :) 

Finally, we had TWO painted turtles for a couple of weeks. Davis was sad to let them go, but they are swimming in our pond now. 

We are busy, but so thankful we have this time to spend as a family!

Summer Fun

Yes, it has been a long time since I updated this blog. We have been SO busy with our summer fun. Here is a quick look at what we have been up to...

Andrew and I took a trip of a lifetime to St. Thomas. It was such a beautiful trip and we enjoyed every moment of it.

One of our highlights this summer is Davis learning how to ride his bike without training wheels. Andrew and I are very proud of this boy! When did my baby get so big?

We have been on the water A LOT this summer. Our friends came to the Mississippi River to boat one day. These two boys are going to be TROUBLE!

We also boated on Clear Lake over the 4th. It was a cool 4th of July, so Sawyer let Grandma and Davis wear his shirt. ;) 

If you asked Davis his favorite thing so far it would be Wisconsin Dells. We went with the Schulz gang and had a lot of fun!

Lots of Outdoor Fun!

This is one of our favorite places to be.. the Jeep.  However, it is exhausting!

Grandpa Steve finally took us out in the boat. We really enjoyed a ride and Davis even caught a fish! He was super excited about this, and giggled about Uncle Sawyer falling into the water to help reel it in. :) 

Grandma Norma and Davis took a stroll down the bike trail. Davis rode with her for two miles! When did he get so big?

Blowing seeds and bubbles... we sure love being outside!

 Bears, they are hunting Grizzly Bears. There is all sorts of wildlife in our woods!

Swimming Lesson Videos

Both kids passed swimming lessons! We are ready to have our nights free again. The kids are SO tired. Davis even fell asleep on our way to lessons one night. They did love the slide and I am thankful Andrew went in the pool with them half the nights!

Rachel's senior prom and Davis got to stand beside her. Doesn't she look beautiful? Davis calls her Princess Rachel when she is dressed up like this. We are so blessed to have her in our lives! Andie wouldn't smile for the pictures (shocking). However, she was NOT going to be left out and had to dress up like the big kids. She also had to wear her brother's old cowboy boots. 

Rachel brought them back Kitty Sophie and Kitty Buckwheat. The kids won't let these things leave their side.

Weekend at home means time for a Jeep ride. :) 

After a nice long nap, these two got scores! They were a big hit!

Night two of swimming lessons went MUCH better than night one. Andie was excited tonight and let Daddy take her in the water. 

Davis is checking out his sister, making sure she is listening to the teacher. :)

Rain, rain go away! It was raining and these two had LOTS of energy. We ended up at the elementary gym to burn some fuel!

Jeep rides have officially started!!! On Saturday we packed into the Jeep and headed out for a burger in Cedar Falls. Both kids fell asleep! They have been asking for another ride everyday since then. :) Davis calls it "his Jeep" and Andie says, "No, Dadda's Jeep!"

Spring Break

We were busy this spring break, even though the weather was not very "springy". 

With the help of many, I painted the basement. Andrew framed one of our favorite maps to hang up. Andrew wasn't sure how he felt about framing a map. (He thinks it means he's done traveling there.) Since his family is always pulling them out to talk about I thought it would be easier to find if it was hanging on the wall. ;)

One of the days Grandma Norma came with us to see Ginna's baby goats. The kids loved feeding them, but didn't like when they jumped. 

Maybe Grandma and Grandpa should get a couple of baby goats on their farm. :)

On another day, we surprised Grandma Sheila at work! Seth, Olivia, Davis, Andie and myself brought her pizza for lunch. She was surprised and didn't want us to leave!

 

I got my baby fix by feeding Olivia. She is such cutie!

As always, there was a lot of dancing going on at our house. It makes us smile when the kids get into their dance moves. Despite the fact we were busy over spring break every night when I asked Davis what he was thankful for on that day it was always the people we saw. Makes us count our blessings to have so many cool people in our lives.
