Busy Week with Family

Okay, so I know it is easy to blame things on other people but I am sure that Cousin AJ taught Davis how to do this.  Davis thinks it is so funny when people do it back to him.

We went to see some goats and chickens at the Walker farm.  Davis was more interested in the dog and the horse.  He thought it was funny when they licked his hands.

The Lord Got a Good One Today...

We got the sad news that our dear Grandpa Jack passed away yesterday afternoon.  We will sure miss taking Davis over to visit him.  He will always be remembered wearing his bib overalls.  Thanks for the fond memories and give Mark a hug for us!

A weekend with the cousins

Davis got to see his big boy cousins AJ and Gavin.  He loves to watch these two boys run around and make noise, and they are so helpful with Davis.  They may look sweet in the picture, but when these three get together it is LOUD at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Easter Sunday

The family before we head out to eat breakfast at church.  (Yes, Belle even made the picture if you look on the far left.  She used to be in the center a few years ago.  Thank goodness she has adjusted well and that Davis feeds her at lunch time.)

Hoppy Easter!

The Easter Bunny came to the Westendorf House and left Davis the necessities to enjoy time on the river.  He got a swim shirt, two swimming trunks, and a sun hat.  He also got a bag of jelly beans but they went MIA almost immediately.

One Year Pictures

Davis had his one year pictures taken February 27th.  We were happy with how they turned out.

This picture was taken to look like one of Andrew's senior pictures.  Thank goodness they don't grow up THAT quickly!

This is Davis's "fun" picture with his hat and Daddy look alike shirt.  He sure is a smiley little guy!

Of course we had to do a picture with Davis driving a John Deere tractor, wearing his farming coat.  There are a lot of hopeful people that Davis will like farming.  I think in a year or two he can take over my spot on the farm.

Washington DC

March 8th we set out to visit Aunt Erica and Uncle Samir.  After 16 hours in the car we finally made it to their new house in DC.  Of course as soon as we got there we jumped back into the car to visit the local brewery called Chocolate City Brewery.  This is a picture of Derek, Davis and Andrew enjoying the brew and sun.

The next day we set out for a long walk around Eastern Market and the Mall.  The weather was beautiful!  Davis took a long nap in his stroller, so we saw quite a bit this day.

On Monday we decided to do a hike along the Potomac River.  Erica took us on the Billy Goat Trail up and down rocks, with some really great views of the Potomac.  If walking 8 plus miles around the Mall the day before wasn't enough to kill us, this trail made the legs a little sore.  It felt good to get outside and feel the sun beating down on us.  Apparently, we felt a little too much sun because Derek, Andrew and I were all toasty red.  Good thing we put sunscreen on Davis.  :)

After the hike Derek, Andrew, Davis and I were dropped off at Arlington Cemetery; then we found ourselves at a bar eating some mussels and drinking some refreshments.  These mussels were good, but nothing like Samir makes!

Tuesday we went to some museums and tried to stay dry from the thunderstorms in the morning.  After the Holocaust Museum we met up with a high school friend of Derek and Andrew's, Mike.
